Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW)

Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method (91490NSW)

Authorised Scolio Pilates® Practitioner

Licensed Buff Bones® Instructor

Member of Pilates Alliance Australasia - Principal Trainer

Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment TAE 40110

Helen has been involved in the dance industry as a performer, teacher and choreographer for over 30 years.  As a 21-year-old dancer, she injured her back dancing and was told she needed back surgery and would not dance again.  She didn’t like this diagnosis and so made her way to a Pilates Studio for rehabilitation and she has been addicted ever since.  Helen has firsthand knowledge of how this work can rehabilitate you and allow you to continue living your life and doing the things you love.

After many years of teaching dance and being a “student” of Pilates, Helen made the decision to train as a Pilates Instructor and hasn’t looked back.  A year after completing her Diploma she returned to study to complete her Advanced Diploma.  Since then she has completed her Buff Bones Certification, Level 1 Innovations in Pilates Certification and attended many professional development workshops both here and overseas.

Helen opened a second studio in Windsor in 2019, which has given her a more central Melbourne base to work with Dance Students and Professional Performers.  She has two adult children who are in the Entertainment industry and through them and their friends recognised a gap in their training and a need for better education on how to maintain their bodies and survive an 8 show week without injury!

Helen specialises in working with clients with Scoliosis and is currently the only Authorised Scolio Pilates® Practitioner in Australia. She is passionate about helping clients lead a healthy and pain-free life and avoid surgical intervention where possible.  She presents Professional Development Workshops on this subject for the Pilates and Allied Health Industry throughout Australia as is available for bookings for her workshop “Curvy Bodies – A Deeper Look at Scoliosis” which is an 8-hour delivery approved by the PAA and APMA.  She can also be booked for tailored training workshops and as a Principle Trainer with PAA these will accrue 1 PDP per hour.

Helen is also a Faculty Educator for National Pilates Training where she delivers the Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction to the next generation of Pilates Instructors.  She also develops and presents professional development workshops for the Pilates and Allied Health Industry.

Olivia de Fluiter - Studio Manager (Maternity Leave)

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW)

Member of Pilates Alliance Australasia - Level 2

2019 sees Olivia step up to the role of Studio Manager at Precision Pilates Parkdale. As Helen has opened a second studio (in Windsor) she will be spending less time at the Parkdale Studio and so Olivia will take on the day to day management.

Olivia began Pilates in 2004 to help alleviate constant back pain which had her taking painkillers daily. It was to be a life-changing experience as within two months she was off all medication and became a Pilates convert, averaging 4 classes per week ever since and encouraging everyone she knows to experience the benefits of Pilates.

Having worked for 7 years in a corporate role, Olivia understands how the stressful sedentary environment can affect our bodies and overall wellbeing. During this time she has developed a keen interest in how the right nutrition and exercise regime can keep the busy mind and body focused, healthy and pain-free.

This journey culminated in Olivia deciding to study the Pilates Method and undertake her Diploma training at National Pilates Training. She is keen to help others experience the transformational nature of Pilates and feel the positive impact on their health. Olivia is excited about working closely with her clients to help them achieve their short and long-term goals.

Fil Gosling - Acting Studio Manager

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW)

Member of Pilates Alliance Australasia - Level 2

Licensed Buff Bones ® Instructor

Fil's Pilates journey began some ten years ago, almost by default. Her usual gym class had been cancelled and so, on the spur of the moment, she decided to take the only other class available at the time - a Pilates Mat class. The rest, as they say, is history.

Fil loves working with people of all ages and believes strongly in the body-mind connection. She particularly enjoys seeing clients move past their perceived thresholds and embrace new found strength, flexibility and coordination.

When she's not counting "The Hundreds", Fil can be found up to her armpits in flour cooking up a storm in her kitchen, spending time with her young family, running along the Bayside beach track and competing in crazy challenges like Tough Mudder with her equally mad friends.

Kirsten Jorgensen

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW)

Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method (91490NSW)

Member of Pilates Alliance Australasia - Level 3

Kirsten returns to Precision Pilates Parkdale in 2019 after a 9-month maternity leave break. We are thrilled to have her back in the studio, bringing with her a fresh perspective on pre and postnatal pilates.

Kirsten's interest in movement began with training in Classical Vocal Music. Here she learned the importance of breathing, posture and anatomy. Later through injury which prevented her from running, she discovered Pilates as a way of providing a full body workout with a focus on similar principals studied in vocal music. Through practising Pilates Kirsten gained greater body awareness and improved functional movement. The improvements in strength, flexibility and posture inspired her to become a Pilates Instructor.

After completing a Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction she gained extensive experience in rehabilitation from working with the Accident, Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy and the Dance Clinic in Collins Street Melbourne. More recently she gained her Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method. After 9 years of teaching Kirsten still enjoys challenging healthy fit clients and also working to assist clients to move without pain.

"Pilates has enabled me to learn so much about my own body and I am passionate in teaching my clients how to maximise their full potential using their own body awareness."

Marta Van Heerden

Polestar Certified Pilates Instructor

Marta is a certified Polestar Pilates teacher from Budapest. She developed her passion for Pilates 15 years ago after she had her 2 children in Moscow. She soon discovered the vast benefits of the Pilates Method. After moving to Hong Kong 11 years ago, she decided to take her passion a step further and became a qualified Pilates Instructor. After teaching at various studios she eventually opened her own successful studio in Stanley, Hong Kong.

Relocating to Australia recently, Marta is still passionate about teaching the Pilates Method and strives to tailor her sessions to the needs and goals of her clients. She is also currently undertaking training in Gyrokenesis which complements Pilates perfectly.

During her spare time, Marta is a keen tennis player and a Tai Chi practitioner and busy mum to her two teenage children.

Lauren-Anne Kempster-Tyas

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT)
Member of Pilates Alliance Australasia - Level 1

Lauren first found Pilates mat classes at the age of 15 in an attempt to overcome dancing injuries. She was hooked. Not only could she feel the changes in her body, she found herself more centred and ready for the challenges of performance, study and final year exams.

Lauren left Melbourne after gaining a place in drama school, returning briefly before being accepted into a post-graduate program at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, London. Throughout her actor training Pilates continued to ground and centre her during her physical and vocal training.

Upon Lauren’s return to Australia, her acting work and body were continually informed by the Pilates Method. It wasn’t until she was diagnosed with a hip injury that she discovered the true magic of Pilates. The practice of Pilates as her rehab helped her regain her range of movement and reduced her pain symptoms and it was then she decided to take her interest further. Lauren then went on to study her Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT) at National Pilates Training and loved every minute of it!  From there she gained employment at Aligned for Life Pilates and is very excited to be joining the team at Precision Pilates.

Tara Presnell

Certificate IV in Pilates (10376NAT)

Certificate IV Dance Teaching & Management (CUA40313)

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT)

As a dancer, Tara was introduced to Pilates as a way to cross-train and condition her body and found she really enjoyed Pilates as another form of movement and physical activity.

After undergoing knee surgery, she used Pilates throughout her rehab process, and during this time she really started to develop a fascination for Pilates and became a dedicated "student" of the Pilates Method.

Her interest in the human body and how to treat it well, both internally and externally, began to grow from this time and Tara decided to complete a Certificate IV in Pilates (10376NAT).  She approached Helen at this time to complete her Work Experience hours and found her love for the method developed even further with Helen as her mentor.

When not doing Pilates, Tara works as a dance teacher. She looks forward to working with you and sharing her love for this work with you.

Dale Sadler

Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT)

Originally working as a psychologist, Dale has always had a passion for helping others. It was during her second pregnancy, that Dale discovered Pilates. By this time Dale had transitioned away from psychology and had worked for 8 years in corporate roles in Australia and London and was looking to regain more balance in her life. Experiencing the benefits Pilates provided in recovery, post the birth of her daughter, Dale was hooked.

Agreeing with Joseph Pilates’ view that ‘Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness’, and with a desire to get back to her roots of helping others, Dale undertook the Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction course.

A strong believer in the mind-body connection, and with first-hand knowledge of the stresses of raising children whilst working, Dale appreciates the importance of taking time to manage your own wellbeing. She finds Pilates an effective way to achieve this and is passionate about helping others achieve the results she has in her Pilates journey.
